Intumescent Coatings

An intumescent is a substance that swells as a result of heat exposure, increasing in volume and decreasing in density. Intumescent coatings are typically used in passive fire protection and require careful surface preparation and application to achieve compliance in their installed configurations and to comply with building codes and laws.

While we hope it never has to be used, an intumescent coating applied by a professional contractor like AMP United can help protect the structural integrity of the material it is adhered to during a fire.
