AMP Values in Action: Breaking Generational Poverty

At AMP United, we’re honored to support Lydia’s House of Hope—a New Hampshire ministry reflecting God’s heart for restoration and hope, helping families break cycles of poverty and addiction through love and faith.
It’s amazing to see God’s love for the marginalized expressed through the faithful service of people like Theresa Tozier, founder of Lydia’s House of Hope ministry in New Hampshire.
“She began the organization out of her simple desire to ‘help the homeless.’ Since its inception in 2002, Theresa’s dream has grown in ways she never could have imagined, with approximately 100 volunteers working in over 12 community-based programs under her direction and guidance,” the Lydia’s House of Hope website notes.
Today, Lydia’s House of Hope is helping families break cycles of generational poverty, addiction, and brokenness affecting men, women, and children.
AMP United has partnered with this organization to support programs that provide transitional housing, counseling, and essential life skills. Through this support, families are empowered to become independent, thriving members of their communities—loved and valued by God.
The transformation families experience is not only economic, but deeply spiritual.
Lydia’s House of Hope embraces the belief that “the worst poverty isn’t about not having enough money to survive. Real poverty is when there is no one in the world who loves you.”
Through the dedication of volunteers and staff, those served are experiencing God’s love as they’re empowered to take meaningful steps forward, complete their training, and ultimately achieve independent living.
“Each year the organization sponsors an annual Thanksgiving dinner where the members of the program help prepare a meal and tell their stories. To hear of the transformations and to see the smiles on the faces of people, who a year earlier had no hope, is abundantly impactful,” says Peter Lignos, AMP United President. “It is a blessing to be a part of this redemptive work.”
